Log Grinding

Log grinding is an essential step in our log home restoration process. Post the initial phase where logs undergo a meticulous peeling process via a sandblaster, our team of skilled craftsmen manually sand the outer surfaces of the logs to achieve a uniform smoothness. This not only enhances the natural aesthetics of the logs but also prepares them for subsequent treatments.

During the grinding process, our team pays special attention to areas that may pose potential challenges to the structural integrity of the log home. This involves a careful examination of the logs for signs of decay, insect damage, or other issues that could compromise the structure over time. Once the problem is identified, based on the nature of the issue, these areas are treated by our team. This includes the removal of damaged wood and the application of treatments to prevent future damage or log replacement.

Our goal is to restore the logs to their original condition, ensuring the longevity and beauty of the log home. This meticulous process is part of our commitment to quality and excellence in log home restoration. By addressing potential issues early on, we can help prevent more significant problems down the line, saving homeowners time and money in the long run.
